Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Transformation in Tillamook, OR
This homes crawl space was in pretty bad shape and the homeowner was concerned on the long term effects the condition of the crawl space could have on the home and the air quality. They called us and scheduled their free inspection. After our system design specialist was done with the inspection he sat with the homeowner to go over the findings and plan to transform the crawl space. The homeowner was eager to start, so they moved forward with the estimate. We began the project by removing all of the debris, fiberglass insulation, and old barrier. Next, we dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space in which we lay down a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock. This will secure a safe passage for the water to drain to the lowest point. Then, at this low point, we install our SuperSump Plus which collects all of the water and will pump it outside and away from the homes foundation via discharge line. The discharge line is then connected to our LawnScape outlet which is a grated drain that allows water to pass through but will keep debris out of the discharge line. We then install our TerraBlock system along the dirt floor of the crawl space to create an insulated barrier separating the home from the earth. On top of the TerraBlock, under the posts and on the foundation walls up to the rim joists we install our heavy 20 mil-thick-liner, CleanSpace. This will really brighten the crawl space and will allow the homeowner to easily see that it is free of dirt, mold and pests. We also make sure to cover all of the vents to ensure not outside air enters. To keep the environment controlled we then install our SaniDry Sedona. This dehumidifier will effectively eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air and will simultaneously keep the home at a healthy relative humidity which will help improve indoor air quality. Finally we finish by installing our foam insulation. This is sprayed in multiple layers on the foundation walls, up to the rim joists, filling every crack and void to guarantee an airtight seal. Full encapsulation means this homeowner can enjoy peace of mind knowing their crawl space is protected.
Filthy Crawl Space
This crawl space was full of dirt and debris and constantly had a musty smell. Over the years when water entered it would evaporate and the fiberglass insulation became damp due to all the moisture, making it heavy and causing it to fall to the ground.
Perfect Home for Pests
The humid and dark atmosphere was the perfect environment for pests and rodents to live and nest.
Full Encapsulation
An encapsulation consists of our CleanSpace system and Spray foam insulation. With this installed, this crawl space now protected for years to come.
