Insulation That Won't Mold - Bend, OR

This homes crawl space had mold growing in the old fiberglass and along the wooden beams. The homeowners had looked into mold treatment, but knew that even with the mold treated, without addressing the crawl space as a whole, mold was bound to come back. To ensure the space remained healthy, they would need to encapsulate. They called up John's Waterproofing and were ready to go. We switched out the fiberglass for a system using TerraBlock insulation along the dirt floors and Spray foam along the walls. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the air at a healthy humidity level where mold and mildew cannot grow.

Making the Crawl Space Healthy - Woodinville, WA

When the crawl space is in disrepair, than the air that moves up into the home will carry all that yuck, up into the home. From falling fiberglass and caked on mud, this crawl space was a mess. Since their living spaces smelled damp and musty, they figured they should fix the problem at the source. To ensure their home will be protected, they contacted John's Waterproofing and asked about getting a long-term solution in place. To do this we suggested a full encapsulation. This system includes a full interior drain system and a TripleSafe sump pump. We than insulate the dirt floor with TerraBlock and all vents are sealed shut. CleanSpace is than wrapped throughout, sealing the space off and a SaniDry is installed to maintain a healthy relative humidity. Spray insulation is than applied to the foundation walls to complete the job. Now the space is dry, stable, and healthy and the owners are happy to report their air smells fresher already.

Creating a Healthier Home - Beavercreek, OR

Most homes have dirt crawl spaces and because they're below grade, most homeowners aren't taught how important it is to keep them dry and healthy, making it one of the most neglected spaces in a home. It is one of the most important areas to keep dry and clean since a lot of the air that you are breathing in the home enters through the crawl space and moves up through the living spaces. This homeowner was looking to upgrade their crawl space to create a healthier environment so they called John's Waterproofing to get the job done. After our system design specialist went out and performed a free inspection he then met with the homeowners and went over the findings and how best to create a healthy and stable home. We begin by removing all of the debris, along with the old vapor barrier and fiberglass insulation. Since there was not much water, we install our SmartDrain system that will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm and any water than enters into a drywall underneath the CleanSpace until the problem can be addressed. We then install our TerraBlock system to create an insulated barrier, separating the home from the earth and preventing any moisture from making its way up through the dirt floor. On top of the TerraBlock we install our CleanSpace system. This is anchored along the foundation walls up to the rim joist and sealed at the footing of the wooden post with waterproof tape. To make sure no outside air enters, we cover all of the vents. The homeowner wanted to create access into the crawlspace from the outside so we installed our Everlast door which will last through any weather conditions. To ensure the home stays at a healthy relative humidity, we install our SaniDry Sedona which will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air, providing much healthier air quality throughout the entire home. To finish, we install our foam insulation. This is sprayed along the foundation walls up to the rim joists, filling every crack and void to ensure a complete airtight seal. With this transformation, the homeowner can rest assured their home is healthy and protected for years to come.
