Schedule Annual Maintenance Photo Album: Service Visit For a Homes Encapsulation - Cannon Beach, OR
A few years back this home had dealt with a rat issue. After having a pest control company out to address the issue, the owners of the home were informed they should look into encapsulation. If they didn't make any changes to the crawl space they would need to be prepared for ongoing pest control since the critters would keep coming back. This is how the owners ended up searching online and contacting John's Waterproofing. The encapsualtion system takes the crawl space and brings it into the homes envelope. We use a special 20 Mil vapor barrier with a woven fiber through it. This deters critters from chewing through the material to gain entry into the crawl space. It is fully sealed into place so there is now entry holes for critters to crawl up into the crawl space now. We also seal all of the old vents up and control the environment using a SaniDry dehumidifier. This machine keep the spaces relative humidity at a controlled range where mold and mildew can't grow, as well as crafting the environment into something uninviting for rodents. We also apply spray foam along the foundation walls which air seals as it insulates so nothing can creep in along the homes base. Now we perform annual service visits on the home to check over the space, and are happy to see they system is doing it's job and critters are staying out!
