Sump Pumps Keep Crawl Space Dry - Lake Oswego, OR
Challenge
Keeping water out of the crawl space is important in maintaining a healthy home. When water seeps into the space and there's no safe way to exit it will continue to flood. This creates future moisture problems because that standing water will evaporate into the air and be absorbed by the insulation and wooden posts supporting the homes foundation. As a result, water has a direct impact in the exposure to mold growth and wood rotting. Being able to control the passage of water that seeps into the crawl space is important for home health.
Solution
The TripleSafe sump pump is installed in almost all of John's Waterproofing systems. It is installed at the lowest point in the crawl space in a 22 inch hole. With three pumps that all sit on top of each other, it is able to control hundreds of gallons of water at a time. The TripleSafe even has a backup battery-operated pump that goes on in the case of a power outage so no matter the circumstance it will continue working to keep water out. This drainage system works by having a perforated pipe installed along the interior perimeter of the crawl space. The pipe collects any water that tries to enter, either from the walls or rising groundwater, and offers it a safe passageway to flow through and into the sump pump container. From there, the TripleSafe takes all that collected water and securely pushes it out of the crawl space and away from the homes foundation. With these two working together, the crawl space is able to remain dry all year round. It is also beneficial that the TripleSafe comes with a WaterWatch alarm to notify homeowners should there be any plumbing issues and a service technician can come take care of it before the issue worsens. Overall, having a proper sump pump and keeping up on its maintenance is important in maintaining a healthy home and keeping the crawl space dry.
