Sump Pumps Keeping Homes Healthy - Beaverton, OR
Challenge
One of every homeowners biggest fears is dealing with water intrusion. It can cause wood to rot, mold to grow, and irreparable structural damage. This homeowner discovered that water was seeping into their crawl space and were unsure of what to do. They began to worry about the water evaporating into the air and promoting unhealthy air quality in their living spaces. They decided to call John's Waterproofing about their options for controlling the water intrusion.
Solution
One of the best systems at John's Waterproofing for controlling water in the crawl space is encapsulation. This is the process of sealing the home off from the earth and regulating the environment so that the humidity stays at a moderate level all year. One product we use in all our waterproofing systems that is the key factor in controlling water is our sump pump services. For this home, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump that connected to a perforated pipe to collect water as it tries to seep through and offers a safe passageway to exit. This three pump system is capable of controlling mass volumes of water at a time because of its heavy duty Zoeller pumps. It even comes with a back up battery-operated pump so in the case of a power outage the crawl space can remain dry. The sump pump is installed in the lowest point of the crawl space and pumps the water out through a discharge line. This line then safely pushes the water away from the homes foundation so it can't come and seep back inside. Once the TripleSafe sump pump is installed and the encapsulation is completed, this homeowner will no longer have to worry about future water intrusion and can feel safer in their healthy home.
