This is a basement that had a sump pump that was not working properly, allowing water to get into the basement. Our crew was able to go out and install a WaterGuard XL drain system along with a TripleSafe sump pump. Keeping this basement dry and clean for a very long time.
This home's sump pump had been improperly installed by another company years ago and could not handle the water that was coming into the basement. They had lived with this for years but began to notice they had parts of the wooden foundation rotting. They were ready for the job to be done right to accommodate their water levels. We installed a WaterGuard drainage system, TripleSafe Sump Pump, and BrightWall paneling.
Homeowners called us when their energy bills kept going up. They had looked under their home and found falling and moldy fiberglass insulation and their old vapor barrier was encrusted in mud. We did a full encapsulation to get this home dry and healthy once more.
This homes large crawlspace had a simple 6 Mil vapor barrier installed, while the home didn't suffer from heavy water issues, the homeowners wanted to use this space for storage. To do so, the slope here would need to be flattened, and a material would be needed that would act as both a vapor barrier and wouldn't rip or tear if items were stored on it. To achieve this goal, the homeowners reached out to John's Waterproofing. We leveled out some shelfs for items to be stored on and we used CleanSpace. This 20 mil woven barrier has a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. As a precaution we installed a full drainage solution as well, and insulated the space with TerraBlock and Spray Foam will be added along the foundation walls.
Fiberglass insulation isn't made to withstand moisture or contact with water. For this reason, it doesn't work in a crawl space. Once water gets sucked into it, it will droop and is prone to mold and mildew. This homes old fiberglass was a mess, and the homes heating and cooling bills were way up. To regain control over their home's energy usage, they were ready to encapsulate.
