This crawlspace in Hammond, Oregon was full of water and falling insulation which caused cold drafts throughout the whole house. Our crews came in and installed our CleanSpace system and transformed this homeowners space
The homeowners just had their vapor barrier replaced by another company, however, their old insulation was never addressed. They had hoped changing the barrier would eliminate the moldy smell under their home, however, it didn't. The mold was festering under the old insulation. To help we removed all of the old insulation, brought in a mold remediation company, and then fully encased the crawlspace.
When the crawl space is in disrepair, than the air that moves up into the home will carry all that yuck, up into the home. From falling fiberglass and caked on mud, this crawl space was a mess. Since their living spaces smelled damp and musty, they figured they should fix the problem at the source. To ensure their home will be protected, they contacted John's Waterproofing and asked about getting a long-term solution in place. To do this we suggested a full encapsulation. This system includes a full interior drain system and a TripleSafe sump pump. We than insulate the dirt floor with TerraBlock and all vents are sealed shut. CleanSpace is than wrapped throughout, sealing the space off and a SaniDry is installed to maintain a healthy relative humidity. Spray insulation is than applied to the foundation walls to complete the job. Now the space is dry, stable, and healthy and the owners are happy to report their air smells fresher already.
This homes old sump pump couldn't keep up with the homes water issue. The space would have puddles pop up and the walls would leak. Since these issues left the space unusable for storage, the owners were in search of a solution. This is how they came to find John's Waterproofing. We removed the old pump and installed our own full interior perimeter drain system using WaterGuard. This collects ground water as well as any water from the walls and channels it to the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump. This machine then pumps the water safely away from the home. Along the walls we than installed our BrightWall paneling, this will not mold or mildew, and it provides a semi-finished look to the space. The owners are so pleased to have their basement fully usable now and look forward to not having to worry when it rains.
This homes basement had been finished years before. As moisture began showing up along the baseboards of the drywall, the owners knew a water issue was festering. They removed a section of the drywall and discovered the old fiberglass behind it was molding, and it smelled musty. The owners of the home called up John's Waterproofing. To address the space we would remove the damaged walls and finishing's. We installed a full interior perimeter drain system with our ThermalDry radiant vapor barrier along the walls and a SaniDry dehumidifier. Our finishing crew came out afterwards and installed paint ready drywall and trim so this space can be safe and healthy to use once more.
