After purchasing this home a few years back, they began to smell a damp wood odor throughout their home. They ended up discovering 2-3 inches of water were pooled in their crawl space. They knew that this could cause long term damage to their home and their health if left unattended. So they decided to call upon John's Waterproofing to schedule their free inspection. During this, the design specialist did a full crawl under the home through the water. Then, working with the homeowner, a solution was crafted. To address the major water issue we would install a full encapsulation. This involved removing the old vapor barrier and insulation. We then dried out the space, and began installing a drain system with a sump pump. The vents were all sealed shut and we laid TerraBlock over the dirt floor. CleanSpace was than wrapped throughout, going under each wooden post, anchored to the foundation walls and sealed fully into place. We then installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the spaces relative humidity at a healthy level and finished up with Spray Foam insulation along the foundation walls.
In some cases garages take on water like basements do, and if the conditions are right we can install our WaterGuard system. This garage had WaterGuard and our SuperSump sump pump installed to help keep it dry for years to come!
Our crew came out and replaced this home owners old bucket sump with one of our top of the line Supersump sump pumps. along with a cleanspace encapsulation, the difference is amazing in looks and efficiency.
This homeowner purchased the home with a "drainage" system already in place. They soon found out that it was a flawed system that did not work. The previous owner put a sump pump outside by the French drain with good intentions of pumping the water that was draining out of the crawlspace away from the home. It just wasn't the correct solution for this home. We installed a smartsump sump pump inside the crawlspace along with Cleanspace, silver glo and a Sedona dehumidifier to give the crawlspace the proper drainage, moisture protection and insulation it so badly needed.
This homes crawl space had an old sump pump, but it had not been addressed in years. The system was not made to address the amount of water that was present and it was struggling. To get the space dry and healthy we would upgrade the system with a full pipe, pump, and plastic. To begin we removed the old vapor barrier and sump system. We than dug a trench around the interior perimeter of the space, installing a drain system to collect groundwater and channel it to the lowest point of the crawl space. From here the water enters the new TripleSafe sump system which pumps the water away from the homes foundation. We than laid down a new 6 Mil vapor barrier, overlapping edges to help it protect the home. Now this home is set with a system which is made to keep up with the homes groundwater.
