The benefits of encapsulating your crawl space include moisture control keeps allergens out eliminates dust mites and provides you with clean air coming into your home. Did you know that half of the air on the first floor of your home comes from underneath your house? Encapsulate and breathe cleaner air.
This basement had a sump pump that was not working and so in the rainy months water would come up through the floor making this basement unusable. A TripleSafe sump pump system was installed and now this basement stays dry, quiet, and is energy efficient.
With water coming up through the basement floor, these homeowners knew they needed some professional help to protect their home. We sent out a design specialist and did a full inspection. To solve the homes issues we installed a full WaterGuard drainage system, with perforated pipes to aid in proper drainage for this large space.
This home had an old sump pump, but it couldn't handle the water leaks. Water leaked through in other spots of the basement and waterproof paint wasn't a long term solution. To solve the issue fully, they called up John's Waterproofing so the issue could be addressed fully and water issues would be a thing of the past.
Water was constantly seeping through the walls in this basement, causing damage to multiple stored items, as well as creating an unenjoyable environment to be in. After dealing with this issue for many years, the homeowners decided to have their basement waterproofed. They had heard that John's was the leading expert in waterproofing services, so they gave us a call! Our Design Specialist arrived to inspect the basement, so that he could understand the issues, and create a solution. After his inspection, and drawing on his many years of waterproofing experience, he thoughtfully presented his Job Proposal to the homeowners. He recommended installing a Basement WaterGuard System. This System would be installed along the full interior perimeter of the basement, to collect all wall water intrusion, and route it to an UltraSump Pump, to expel it safely away from the home through a discharge line. The floor was also chipped and cracking, so he recommended chipping out the old cracked concrete floor, and pouring a new one in its place. The homeowners agreed with both of these solutions, and were eager for the work to begin.
When our crew of Waterproofing experts arrived, they began by chipping out and removing the old concrete floor. Next, they laid down the WaterGuard collection along the footing of the foundation walls, to catch all wall water seepage. All collected water will be routed to the UltraSump Pump, which will pump the water safely away from the home via a discharge line. With the WaterGuard System now installed and fully operational, the crew built the concrete forms for the new basement floor. After pouring the concrete, they allowed it to harden and then gave it a nice beautiful finish! The concrete was poured right up against the WaterGuard Tunnels, creating a seamless finish. Along the walls we installed our CleanSpace wall system to safely guide water down the walls to be collected. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to address excess moisture in the air. The owners of this home can now enjoy and use their basement for storage without having to worry about water damage being a problem. Thanks to the new concrete floor, the entire basement appears brighter, and its structural stability has been greatly improved as well. With a professionally waterproofed basement, you, too, can enjoy a safer and more useable basement! Call John's today to schedule your Free Waterproofing Estimate!
