Signs of Water Damage in the Basement - Rickreall, OR
Challenge
When water gets into a basement, it can become a serious problem very quickly. A wet basement can cause many issues and if not addressed adequately, it can reduce property value, air quality and even damage personal belongings stored in the basement. After struggling with water flooding their basement, cracks in the walls and musty odors, this homeowner decided it was finally time to address these issues and they reached out to John's Waterproofing.
Solution
John's Waterproofing sent out one of our system design specialists to perform a free estimate and inspection. Once the inspection was finished, the design specialist met with the homeowner and explained the findings and discussed the solution. To begin this project, our team used a jack hammer to dig a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement which is filled with clean gravel, and our WaterGuard system is installed on top, and is discreetly concreted over. This will collect water from walls, as well as ground water and will channel it to the lowest point of the basement. We then install our SuperSump Plus pump at the lowest point, which will direct water away from the foundation. Our TrenchDrain system is installed at the entrance of basement to collect any water that may enter and drain it to our WaterGuard system. Our team also installs a discharge line outside that will drain the water away from the foundation. Then, our Brightwall paneling is installed along the walls, giving the basement a semi-finished look. To finish the project, our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier is installed to control the environment. This will help prevent mold and mildew and promote clean air for the entire home. This homeowner can be sure their basement will remain protected for years to comes.
