Water Damage on Basement Walls in Corbett, OR
Challenge
In a home, below grade spaces such as basements tend to get a lot of water intrusion due to hydrostatic pressure which end up causing issues for the home that could become costly if not properly addressed. Problems such as damaged walls, cracks in the concrete, moisture and humidity. Since concrete is porous, it leads to water seepage causing musty lingering odors, poor structural integrity, efflorescence and many more issues. These homeowners knew that their basement was having all of these issues and they wanted to find a solution, so they reached out to us and scheduled their free visit. Our system design specialist went out and thoroughly inspected the basement then met with the homeowners to discuss the best game plan to create a dry, healthy and stable basement.
Solution
We begin by creating a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement by using a jack hammer, in this trench we install our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system that will collect the water that enters through the walls and ground water, draining it to the lowest point. This system is then concreted over to provide a discreet look. Then, at this low point, we install our TripleSafe sump system that will gather all of this collected water and pump it outside and away from the home through a discharge line. Outside, we install our LawnScape outlet, which is a grated drain that will let water pass though, all while keeping debris out of the discharge line. Along the walls we install our BrightWall system which is designed to be installed over the concrete walls and will not only block moisture but any water. This product will direct it down into the perimeter drainage system, keeping the walls free of water damage and leaving a semi-finished look in this basement. Lastly, we finish this project by installing our SaniDry XP that will keep this basement at a healthy relative humidity while eliminating and damp musty odors by drying and filtering the air. With this project now complete, these homeowners can be sure this basement is properly protected from water.
