Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Custom Concrete Window Well and Basement Drainage - Portland, OR
The owner of this home called John's because she had 2 windows in her basement without wells, and they had been leaking into her home for many years. The constant leaking caused water to collect on her basement floor, and with no proper drainage system, it would sit until it eventually evaporated, or seeped into the concrete floor. Additionally, she had a stairwell leading down into her basement, with a drain at the bottom to collect all rain water. The drain was attached to her existing underground Rain Drain piping which was connected to her gutter downspouts. However, there was no Sump Pump to ensure proper expulsion of the collected rain water - causing water to bubble back out of the drain. We scheduled her with our Design Specialist, and he arrived soon after, to perform a thorough inspection of the homes basement. After his inspection, he approached the homeowner with thoughtful and effective solutions. To address the leaking basement windows, he recommended building a custom concrete window wells on the exterior to prevent ground water from entering the basement. As for the drain at the bottom of the stairwell, he suggested installing a SuperSump Pump, as well as a new underground RainDrain System to carry all collected rain water from the drain and the gutters far away from the home. At the end of the RainDrain Line, he recommended installing a LawnScape Outlet to evenly disperse all of the water throughout the lawn, rather than creating a large puddle at the expulsion site. The homeowner was pleased with her job proposal, and gave us her approval to begin the job. Our crew of Waterproofing Experts arrived the morning the job was scheduled, and completed all of the work in a timely manner, with high attention to detail. Our Electrical Division also came to the home, to install a Dedicated Electrical Circuit, to ensure 24/7 operation of the SuperSump Pump. The basement of this home is now protected from water intrusion, thanks to the installation of a complete RainDrain System and SuperSump Pump. Proper rain water drainage is extremely imperative for all homes to have, as water intrusion can and will cause catastrophic structural damage over time. This homeowner made an excellent decision, by having her home protected from water damage with a professionally installed RainDrain System! Call us today to schedule your Free Waterproofing Estimate!
Basement Window # 1
This basement window sat at ground level, and heavy rains would cause water to collect alongside the window and drain into the basement.
Basement Window # 2
This is the second basement window without a well to prevent ground water from entering the basement.
Original Stairwell Drain
The drain in the center of the bottom of the stairwell was unable to expel the collected water, because the drainage slope wasn't severe enough, and there was no Sump Pump to help move the water along.
Gutter Downspout
The gutter downspouts were connected to the existing Rain Drain Line, but the collected water wasn't able to drain properly without a Sump Pump to push the water out of the line.
SuperSump Pump Plus
Our crew installed this SuperSump Pump Plus, to ensure that all collected rainwater would be properly expelled away from the home through the new RainDrain Line buried underground.
Underground RainDrain System
Our crew extended the existing Rain Drain Lines, to carry collected rain water further away from the home. At the end of the new RainDrain Line, we attached a LawnScape Outlet to evenly disperse the water.
