Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing A Leaky Basement - Bellingham, WA
The owner of this home was tired of the belongings in his basement being destroyed because of water leaking in through the basement walls. Additionally, he had noticed that the air inside of the basement was smelly and presumably unhealthy to breath. He decided to call on his local Waterproofing Experts at John's to mitigate these frustrating and persistent issues. When our Design Specialist arrived at his home, he greeted the homeowner with respect, and asked him questions to better understand the problems. After completing a thorough inspection, he thoughtfully approached the homeowner with his suggested solution - installation of a WaterGuard System, to catch and expel all wall-water intrusion, as well as installing a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier to dry and filter the basement air. After discussing the specifics of how the WaterGuard System, and SaniDry work, the homeowner was very pleased, and eager to move forward with these proposed solutions. We got him on our schedule.
First, the crew cut a narrow trench into the concrete basement floor, right up against the bottom of the leaking basement walls. Inside of the trench, they laid our WaterGuard Collection Tunnels, which will immediately catch all wall-water, and route it to a SuperSump Pump, to be expelled via a discharge line far away from the home. After installing the WaterGuard, our crew poured fresh concrete around the Tunnels and the Pump, flush with the original floor, to provide a finished and structurally intact surface with no gaps. The owners abstained from getting a wall system installed at this time. To maintain the relative humidity inside of the basement, our crew also installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier, which is an absolute powerhouse of a machine! It removes 10 times the amount of moisture from the air compared to typical dehumidifiers, while still using the same amount of energy as the less effective machine. It runs fully automatically, saving the homeowner time, while providing peace of mind. The SaniDry XP prevents mold growth, dries and filters the air, and helps to eliminate allergens. By installing a Dehumidifier, you are protecting the health of your loved ones, as well as creating a more comfortable space for your family to thrive. With this basement now waterproofed, and the air quality under control, this family can once again use their basement as dry storage, and they will no longer feel like their health is suffering while breathing basement air. Here at John's, we take great pride in providing WOW service to all of our customers, and we are grateful every time that we are rightfully entrusted with creating dry, healthy spaces for families to enjoy safely for many years. After over 50 years in the Waterproofing Industry, we still never tire of seeing the relief and satisfaction on homeowners faces, when they see our crew improving the safety and longevity of their homes!
