This basement was leaking, damp, and cold, which prompted the homeowner to begin searching for the right company to call for help. After visiting our website, he was very impressed by our reviews from our over 50 years of business. After a phone call to our office, we had him on our schedule with a design specialist. Upon arrival, he greeted the homeowner with respect, and performed a thorough inspection of the basement - finding leaking walls, rainwater flowing through the basement doorway, and an odor and dampness throughout the space. He explained that a wet basement is not only frustrating, it is also unsafe, as the water weakens structural stability, and creates an unhealthy air environment throughout the entire home. Additionally, as the leaking walls had begun to bow from the force of hydrostatic pressure, he recommended reinforcing the walls with Carbon Fiber Stitching, to prevent further bowing. The homeowner agreed with the proposed solutions, and was eager to have the work completed. Our crew began by installing the WaterGuard System. For this, they dug a narrow trench right up against the bottom of the leaky basement walls. Inside of the trench, they placed WaterGuard to catch all wall-water intrusion, and carry it to a TripleSafe Sump Pump, which will expel the water away from the home via an underground discharge line. At the end of the discharge line, we attached a LawnScape Outlet. The TripleSafe Sump Pump is a 3-pump-in-1 system, allowing the system to navigate a lot of water. This Pump System provides perfect peace of mind at all times, as the 3rd and final pump is battery operated, so that it will still function in the event of a power outage. After installing the WaterGuard and TripleSafe, our crew poured fresh concrete, creating a seamless and structurally intact surface, flush with the original floor. Directly onto the bowing wall, they applied Carbon Fiber Stitching, to reinforce and secure the wall in place. Carbon Fiber Stitching is 10 times stronger than steel, and is incredibly effective at restoring structural integrity to cracked and bowing walls. On top of the Carbon Fiber Stitching, our crew installed our ThermalDry Wall System, to insulate the basement, and to ensure that all wall-water intrusion would flow into the WaterGuard below. ThermalDry is a 2-sided insulation, featuring a bubble-wrap like composition on one side, and a reflective tin material on the other, to trap and reflect heat back into your home - effectively reducing energy costs. This wall system is made to be finished overtop. To prevent rainwater from flowing in through the doorway, our crew installed an exterior TrenchDrain to collect and carry rainwater to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, to be expelled along with the water collected by the WaterGuard System. To create a healthy air environment inside of the basement, as well as throughout the entire home, we installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier. This machine is extremely powerful, runs fully automatically, prevents mold growth, and dries, filters, and removes allergens from the air. With this basement now professionally waterproofed, insulated, and protected from mold growth, the structural stability and safety of this home has been restored - ensuring a dry and healthy home for years to come!
