Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing Leaky Basement - Oak Harbor, WA
Leaky basements don't have to be a life-long issue for homeowners. The experts here at John's specialize in the professional installation of many different waterproofing systems for homes. When our Specialist arrived at this home, he first greeted the homeowner, and then performed a thorough and in-depth inspection of the homes finished basement. After his inspection, he approached the homeowner to discuss his findings. He verified that the basement was indeed leaking in several areas along the foundation wall. To address the issues we would install a waterproofing system utilizing heavy-duty, long lasting waterproofing components. The homeowner was pleased with the proposed solutions, and we got the job scheduled quickly!
When our crew of waterproofing experts arrived, they began by removing the below-grade drywall and installing our ThermalDry Wall System directly onto the concrete foundation of the home. ThermalDry is a double-sided waterproof barrier, that prevents moisture from damaging basement walls, while also greatly reducing heat loss through cold foundation walls - saving homeowners money on energy costs. Additionally, it acts as a drainage guide - routing intrusive water downward into our perimeter drainage system known as WaterGuard. After our crew finished lining the leaking walls with the ThermalDry barrier, they began the installation of our WaterGuard. For this, they dug a shallow and narrow trench along the leaking basement walls, to hold the WaterGuard Collection Tunnels. These tunnels will catch all wall-water and groundwater, and route it to a SuperSump Pump installed at the lowest point inside the basement. When water reaches the pump, it will be expelled safely away from the home via an underground discharge line. At the end of the discharge line, our crew installed a LawnScape Outlet, to ensure even water distribution into the lawn. To hold the WaterGuard Tunnels permanently and firmly in place, our crew poured concrete right up against them, creating a seamless and even finish. A dehumidifier is brought in as the final step to remove excess moisture from the air. With our work now complete, and the basement professionally waterproofed, this homeowner can now replace the sheetrock, and begin finishing his basement once again without the worry of water damage. Here at John's, we take great pride in providing peace of mind to homeowners through the professional installation of the highest quality waterproofing systems available.
