Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Finished Basement Waterproofing System in Portland, OR
When a below grade living area, such as a basement starts having issues with water intrusion, it can end up causing detrimental damage if not properly addressed in a timely manner. Water was entering through this foundation wall, and was causing puddles of water on the floor of this finished space. The homeowners had a lot of furniture down there and they were worried about the potential damage to their belongings as well as the structure of the home itself, so they gave us a call to schedule their free visit. We went out and thoroughly inspected the basement and found where the water was entering from and saw it had damaged the drywall. After speaking to the homeowners and going over the best options, they were eager to get this issue resolved so they moved forward with the project and we began.
We start by removing the damaged dry wall and create a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement. Within the trench we place clean gravel rock and install our WaterGuard System. This perimeter drainage system gathers water from the walls as well as ground water and drains it to the lowest point. We then concrete over this system to provide a discreet look. At the low point we install our SuperSump Plus that will collect all of the water from the perimeter drainage system to pump it outside of the home away from the foundation through a discharge line. Since we are finishing this basement, along the walls, we install our ThermalDry Wall system. This allows any water that enters to safely travel down the walls, to the perimeter drainage system as well as help maintain a comfortable temperature. After the waterproofing system is installed, our finishing department installs our paint ready sheetrock walls and baseboard molding and now this basement is ready for the homeowners to fully finish and they no longer have to worry about water entering their home.
