Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Remodel in Portland, OR
This homeowner was in the middle of remodeling their basement when they found many signs of water damage, so they reached out to John's to find a real solution and peace of mind to remodel the basement. We went out and thoroughly inspected this basement then met with the homeowner to go over the best options to transform the space into somewhere that is dry, stable and healthy. After going over the estimate, the homeowners moved forward with the project and we began.
We use a jackhammer to create a trench around the interior perimeter of this basement. We then lay clean gravel in this trench and our WaterGuard system overtop. This is a perimeter drainage system that gathers any water that enters and allows it to properly drain to the lowest point of the basement. This system is then concreted over to provide a discreet look. At the low point, we install our SuperSump system that will collect the water and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. Outside, the discharge line is connected to our LawnScape Outlet which is a grated drain that allows water to pass through but will keep debris out of the line. We then install our WellDuct system to establish a drain from the window wells to the interior perimeter drainage system. Along the walls we install our ThermalDry Wall system. This material will allow the water to safely travel down the walls into the WaterGuard system. We use this wall system for any basement that will be finished overtop of. Lastly we install a SaniDry dehumidifier to remove excess moisture from the air, keeping the air at a healthy relative humidity. Now that we finished the waterproofing portion of this project these homeowners can confidently finish this basement and be sure that this home will remain dry, stable and healthy.
