Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: New Home with Basement Issues- Cornelius, OR
This homeowner was planning to finish their basement in their new home, but the walls were water-stained and damp to the touch. Knowing that leaving an issue like this unsolved could lead to even more problems and costs, they reached out to us to help them find a solution that would not only give them peace of mind, but would also address all of these issues permanently. We went out and did a walk through their basement thoroughly inspecting. After, we met with the homeowner to discuss the findings a create a game plan that will properly solve these problems.
First, we begin this project by using a jackhammer to create a trench around the perimeter of the basement, and in it we add clean gravel rock and installed our WaterGuard system. This perimeter drainage system will collect water from the walls as well as groundwater, safely channeling it to the lowest point on the basement. This system is then concreted over to provide a discreet look, with inspection ports installed regularly for maintenance. At the low point in the basement, we install our SuperSump Plus that will gather this collected water and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line that is buried in the yard. Since this homeowner was planning on finishing this basement, along the walls we installed our ThermalDry Wall system. This radiant barrier will not only help keep the basement at a comfortable temperature, but it will allow water to safely travel down the walls into the WaterGuard system. A SaniDry dehumidifier was installed as the final piece to the waterproofing system, removing excess moisture to keep the space healthy. Now that this basement is waterproofed, this homeowner can confidently finish this project without worry of mold, water or any damages.
