Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing Leaky Basement - Portland, OR
Leaky basements are very common in the PNW, as a persistently wet climate causes water intrusion into homes, which can lead to structural issues, as well as detrimental health affects to those living inside the home. If your basement suffers from this frustrating and dangerous affliction, then give John's a call! We are your leading, local experts in waterproofing, and structural repairs, and are backed by over 50 years of experience. The best way to waterproof a leaky basement, is through the combined professional installation of several of our heavy-duty waterproofing systems.
This home had their basement poised and ready to be finished, but it needed to be waterproofed first. To begin we installed our ThermalDry Wall system directly onto the leaking basement walls. ThermalDry provides a thermal break, while also preventing water from going through them. If water penetrates a leaking wall, it will flow down the back side of the ThermalDry, and down into our WaterGuard Collection Tunnels, installed right up against the bottom of each of the walls. The WaterGuard is placed inside of a narrow trench that our crews carefully cut into the concrete basement floor. After placement, fresh concrete is poured over, this will hold them in place, and return structural integrity to the floor. All wall water intrusion will be collected in the WaterGuard, and routed to a SuperSump Pump located at the lowest point of the basement. When water reaches the Pump, it will be expelled away from the home via an underground discharge line. This home also had water entering the basement through an exterior doorway, by this, our crews installed a TrenchDrain right in front of the door, catching the water intrusion. The TrenchDrain will also be connected to the SuperSump Pump, to remove the water away from the home through the underground discharge line. After the completed installation of these highly effective waterproofing systems, the basement walls and floors are ready to be finished, and homeowners will no longer have to worry about the frustration of water intrusion into their homes. Waterproofed basements help our customers protect the long-term investment they have into their homes, by keeping structural components dry and stable. This essential home improvement upgrade provides families with peace of mind, and enables them to thrive inside of their homes for many years.
Before Waterproofing
In this photo, you can see mold growing on these basement walls, as well as on the wooden trim.
Waterproofed Basement Walls
Our ThermalDry Wall System will send all water intrusion down into the WaterGuard Collection Tunnel at the bottom of the leaky walls, to be pumped immediately away from the home.
WaterGuard Port
Our WaterGuard Tunnels include Ports installed intermittently, making cleaning and flushing them easy for our crews to do once per year, as part of our maintenance plan to ensure proper functionality of the systems.
SuperSump Pump
Our SuperSump Pumps run continuously, saving homeowners time, while providing peace of mind. Our Electrical Division installs a new, dedicated circuit for the 24/7 operation of these heavy-duty machines.
Discharge Line Tied Into Rain Drain Line
To ensure that all water collected in the WaterGuard, and TrenchDrain is carried far away from the home, our crew tied each system into an underground discharge and Rain Drain Line, and then covered the piping with fresh concrete.
