Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Water Entering Basement, Causing Issues in Damascus, OR
This finished basement was being used as an activity room with an piece unfinished utilized for their utility room and storage for the families belongings. They were noticing that even in the drier months there was a lingering musty smell and high levels of humidity. Knowing that this could be a sign of water intrusion which could lead to mold growth and serious damage, they decided to call us up and schedule a free visit. We sent out one of our system design specialist and he meticulously inspected this whole basement and then met with the homeowners to discuss the best game plan to create a dry and stable basement where they can confidently store their belongings and safely enjoy their living space.
We started this project by removing one of the walls with serious water damage, then we dug a trench around the interior perimeter using a jackhammer. In this trench we add clean gravel rock and on top, we installed our WaterGuard system to gather water from the walls and ground, draining them to the lowest point. This is then concreted over to provide a seamless look. At the low point we installed our TripleSafe Sump system which will be in charge of collecting the water and pumping it outside of the home through a discharge line. Our LawnScape outlet is connected to it outside and with its grated drain it will help to keep debris out of the discharge line. We installed our ThermalDry system along the foundation wall where we remove the damaged drywall, this material is shingled into the perimeter drainage system which will allow water to be directed down into it. For the walls in the utility room, we installed our BrightWall system which provides a semi-finished look. In this homes driveway we installed our TrenchDrain which will keep water from entering the home and is connected the homes downspouts. Our Finishing department then went in and installed our paint ready sheet rock walls and now the homeowner can safely this space and be sure this basement is protected against any water problems.
