Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Cold and Damp Finished Basement - Carlton, OR
After discovering puddles throughout their finished basement, this homeowner called John's Waterproofing for a free inspection. Our Design Specialists found that knotty pine walls had been installed directly over the concrete foundation with no insulation or vapor barrier, trapping moisture and allowing water to seep into the basement. Our team quickly got to work to eliminate the water intrusion and create a drier and more comfortable home.
We demo'd all of the damaged pieces of the basement, allowing us access to the foundation. We created a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement walls. Within this we install our WaterGuard drainage system. Water collects in this to be directed to the newly installed sump pump. This is placed in the lowest spot of the basement, and will pump the water effectively away from the foundation to a LawnScape outlet. Since the space would be re-finished we installed our ThermalDry radiant wall system along the walls. These acts as a thermal break for the space and safely allows water to pass down the foundation walls to be collected in the WaterGuard below. The final piece to waterproof the space was the installation of a SaniDry dehumidifier. This removes excess moisture from the walls, allowing the space to maintain a healthy relative humidity at all times. Now this space is set to be finished and protected against water damage in the years to come.
Knotty Pine Wall Removal
Our Waterproofing Experts removed the knotty pine wall covering to reveal the concrete foundation and hidden source of water intrusion.
WaterGuard Installation
A trench was excavated around the interior perimeter of the basement, and a WaterGuard was installed to capture any groundwater from the walls and direct it right to the sump pump.
ThermalDry Wall & Covered Drainage Systems
ThermalDry Wall was installed on the walls, acting as a vapor barrier and to reflect heat back into the basement. ThermalDry is the highest-quality option for homeowners planning to finish their basement.
After the WaterGuard and drainage line were installed, the trench was filled with concrete to create a smooth, level surface for future flooring.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
Our top-of-the-line TripleSafe sump pump was installed, featuring three dependable pumps, including a battery-powered backup, to provide multiple lines of defense and keep the basement dry, even during power outages.
