Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Addressing Water Issues in Basement- Portland, OR
This homeowner reached out to John's because their remodel project came to a halt after finding signs of water intrusion. Knowing that ignoring water issues in a renovation would cause detrimental and costly issues, they decided to find a permanent solution that will keep the basement dry and stable. We went out and assessed the problem and came up with a game plan to keep this project moving with peace of mind.
We start by using a jackhammer to create a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement and in this trench we install our WaterGuard system that will collect water from the walls and groundwater, safely channeling it to the lowest point. This is then concreted over to provide a discreet look. We then move on to installing our TripleSafe Sump at the low point. This system gathers the water and pumps it outside of the home through a discharge line. One of the rooms in this basement will be used as the utility and storage area, so on the walls, we install our CleanSpace Wall Barrier. Along the walls of the space that would be used more regularly, we installed our BrightWall system to provide a semi-finished look. This system will direct any water that may enter down into the perimeter drainage system. Some water was entering through the below-grade window, so we install our WellDuct which establishes a drain from the window well to the perimeter drainage system. We also install our TrenchDrain on the exterior doorway to prevent water from entering. A dehumidifier was than installed to remove excess moisture from the air. With this waterproofing system fully installed, this homeowner can now confidently finish this basement without worry of water entering and causing damage.
