Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Addressing Water Intrusion in Finished Basement- Damascus, OR
These homeowners reached out to us in hopes of finding them a real solution to their problem with water intrusion in their finished basement. They first noticed that there was water when they took note of the damp odor and humid environment. They removed the damp carpet and noticed a crack in the floor that was allowing water to pass through. We went out and assessed the problem and then met with the homeowners to discuss the best options to make this basement dry, stable and healthy again. First, we remove the walls on the perimeter of the basement, we then created a trench along these and installed our WaterGuard system that will collect water from the walls and the ground water, channeling it to the lowest point. This system then gets concreted over to provide a discreet look. At the low point we install our SuperSump Plus to gather all of this water and pump it outside of the home, through a discharge line. Outside of the home at the end of the discharge line we place our LawnScape outlet and this grated drain keeps water passing through but keeps debris out of the line. We install a WellDuct to establish a drain from the below-grade window well into the WaterGuard system. Along the walls we install our ThermalDry Radiant barrier and this material helps direct water down into the perimeter drainage system while keeping the space at a comfortable temperature. A dehumidifier is installed to help protect the space by removing excess moisture from the air. Finally, our finishing crew comes in and installs our paint ready sheet rock walls and this homeowner can now fully refinish this living space comfortably without worry of water issues.
