Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Finished Basement Flooding - Washougal, WA
A home in Washougal sitting just steps away from the river and was constantly dealing with water finding its way into the finished basement. Each heavy rain brought even more water and worry for the homeowners. A desperate call came into John's, and we responded with urgency. Time was ticking until the home became a lost cause. After a free inspection, our Design Specialists and the homeowners worked together to create the most budget-fitting and optimal plan to waterproof the basement.
The project started with the removal of the water-damaged walls. Next, a trench was excavated around the interior perimeter of the basement, and our WaterGuard drainage system was installed to capture water before it could reach the floor. In a location hidden from the public eye, a SuperSump Plus was installed to pump the collected water safely out and far away from the home. Along the foundation walls, thermal dry wall panels were installed, followed by paint-ready sheetrock so the homeowners could refinish their basement even better than before. Now, instead of worrying every time the river rises, they can enjoy a dry basement built to last.
Window Water Seepage
Water was making its way through the basement window, leaving behind visible staining and signs of moisture intrusion.
Water Intrusion in Wall Penetration
Brown staining and streaking show moisture has built up and seeped into the basement through the opening. This is a common sign of foundation leaks.
WaterGuard
Fresh concrete covers the WaterGuard, hiding the drainage system under the floor. Water from the foundation walls flows into this, where it is directed to the sump pump.
SuperSump Plus
The SuperSump Plus is the heart of the system, receiving water from the WaterGuard and pumping it out of the home.
Sheetrock Walls
Paint-ready sheetrock was installed to give the homeowners a fresh start to their now dry, finished basement.
Water Damaged Walls
These basement walls had suffered severe water damage and needed to be addressed for a permanent waterproofing solution.
ThermalDry Wall
This wall system was installed along the foundation walls to insulate the basement and keep the temperatures consistent and comfortable.
