Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: A New Pathway for Water - Springfield, OR

Water from the home's existing downspout was pouring out and pooling right next to the foundation, eventually making its way into the crawl space and causing damage around the home. With water continuing to collect where it shouldn't, the homeowners called John’s Waterproofing for help. One of our design specialists came out to assess the problem and work alongside the homeowners to find a solution that would effectively redirect the water while staying within their budget. Together, they came up with a plan to give the water a clear path away from the home. The project included a new RainDrain system along the perimeter of the home, and a drainage line that runs underground from the lowest point of the system all the way to the curb. With a city permit, a section of the curb was excavated, and a new curb outlet was installed. This created a direct exit point for the excess water. Now, instead of pooling along the foundation, rainwater has a way to get away from the home and out to the road, keeping the foundation and crawl space protected from unwanted water.

Creating a Clear Path

A trench was dug from the lowest point of the home's Rain Drain all the way to the curb, allowing water to leave the property. The drainage line was installed underground, with the sidewalk carefully cut to make way for the new system. The excavated dirt was placed on tarps so it could be returned to the trench once the work was complete. At the curb, a new outlet was created to allow collected water to safely flow.

Rain Drain

A trench was dug along the home's perimeter for the installation of a new Rain Drain system. The drainage line is used to collect water and redirect it to the new curb outlet, keeping water away from the home's foundation.

Sidewalk Restored

Once the drainage line was installed, the sidewalk was restored with fresh concrete poured. The walkway returned to a clean, finished condition.

Drainage Line

A drainage line was installed along the side of the home's entrance to help collect and redirect water from the home. River rock was placed over the drain for a clean, finished appearance that blends naturally into the landscape.

Hidden Under the Surface

Once the drainage was installed, the trench was filled and the ground was restored, leaving little evidence that work had been done. The new drainage system now works quietly under the surface, out of sight and out of mind.
