Homeowners reached out to John's when they began to notice signs of water intrusion in their basement. Water seepage was running down the walls, damaging the beautifully finished space they created for fun, memories, and entertainment. We sent one of our design specialists to inspect the home, find the source of the problem, and work with the homeowners to create a plan to restore and waterproof their basement once and for all.  When our waterproofing crew arrived, they got to work right away. First, they removed the water damaged drywall. Along the foundation walls, our ThermalDry radiant vapor barrier was installed to help radiate heat back into the basement for more comfortable temperatures, while also directing water vapor down into the WaterGuard drainage system. Next, the crew excavated a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement and installed WaterGuard. This below-the-floor drainage system collects water that enters through the walls and directs it to the sump pump, keeping it away from the finished space. The sump pump was installed and connected to a discharge line leading to a LawnScape Outlet a safe distance away from the home. Sitting flush with the yard, the LawnScape Outlet allows water to discharge safely away from the home. To ensure the spaces humidity levels were within the healthy range, a SaniDry dehumidifier was installed. This basement now has a reliable way to collect and expel water and moisture before it can cause any more damage. This space can now safely be refinished and be made ready for many more memories.
