Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: The Underground Duo - Scio, OR

These homeowners had a basement and crawl space underneath their home and had no idea how to manage it. They noticed signs of water damage and could feel the humidity seeping into their home through the subfloors. They scheduled an appointment with John's Waterproofing because they knew that we could solve their problems. We sent out a Design Specialist to give a thorough inspection and figure out products that are best fit for this specific house. Together, the owners and the Design Specialist collaborated on a plan and a date to begin the project.  Our crew arrived and the first step was to install the WaterGuard. This is the ultimate basement waterproofing system that is a non clogging pipe surrounding the interior perimeter. It will collect any water that enters and will drain to the mighty TripleSafe. This sump pump works wonders with the WaterGuard, containing three pumps to handle any level of water or in case a power outage occurs. The TripleSafe will take the collected water and pump it outside of the house through an attached discharge line. In the crawl space, we decided the best option would be to add a SmartDrain because the water issues were primarily in the basement. A SmartDrain is a temporary drain that will sound off an alarm and alert the owners if a plumbing leak ever occurs. A dry well will collect the water until the leak can be fixed. Continuing in the crawl space, we laid down TerraBlock on the dirt floors as durable, long lasting insulation. TerraBlock will combat the specific needs of a crawl space and eliminate chances of moisture entering. On top of the floor insulation, we place CleanSpace, this is a thick 20 Mil white liner. This vapor barrier is the best choice for protecting the interior from moisture, mold, and rodents. CleanSpace presents a sleek look, brightening up the area. To insulate the walls we apply spray foam. Back to the basement, we set up BrightWall on the walls as a vapor barrier. It shields unfinished walls while stopping moisture and managing leaks by guiding water to the WaterGuard system. Finally, we installed the powerful SaniDry. This dehumidifier will circulate dry and filtered air, decreasing the humidity back to a healthy level. The SaniDry will save energy and eliminate the issue of warm air rising into the home. The crew completed the project and the owners couldn’t be more thrilled. They were grateful to finally have a managed basement and crawl space that will remain dry, stable, and healthy!
