Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: The Steps to a Better Basement - Sandy, OR
This finished basement was in desperate need of help. The bedrooms, the entertainment area, and the laundry room were all flooding from heavy rains leaking their way in through the foundation. John's Waterproofing quickly came to the rescue.
We started with the excavation of the concrete flooring along the perimeter of the basement. In part of the trench, WaterGuard was installed. In another, a Perf Pipe as well as DrainMatt was installed to best fit that location in the basement. A room away from the basement living space was utilized for the installation of a SuperSump Plus. A discharge line was connected from the sump pump and led to a LawnScape Outlet in the yard, far away from the home's foundation to expel water. We than applied ThermalDry along the walls for the space to be refinished, and placed a dehumidifier within the space to remove excess moisture from the air. Thanks to John's Waterproofing, the basement was waterproofed and finally ready to be enjoyed without a worry about water.
Excavated Trench
A trench was excavated around the basement's interior, creating space for the WaterGuard and Perf Pipe installation.
DrainMat
Due to this specific location of the basement, a WaterGuard was unable to be installed. Instead, a Perf Pipe was placed, and DrainMat was installed on top, allowing water to enter the drainage pipe.
Concrete Concealed WaterGuard
Once the WaterGuard is installed in the excavated trench, the drainage system is concealed beneath concrete, with small spouts on top to allow water to enter. This creates a flat surface for installing flooring on top later.
SuperSump Plus
A SuperSump Plus was installed in a hidden location in the basement. This system collects water from the WaterGuard and Perf Pipe and sends it out of the home.
