Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Installing A Waterproofing System in Tight Basement- Portland, OR

This small basement was experiencing water intrusion that began to cause multiple issues for this home. The homeowners were concerned about long term damage that could occur over time. They reached out to John's to schedule their free visit and get some answers. After thoroughly accessing this basement, we met with the homeowners and went over the best options, and created a plan that will effectively and permanently solve these issues. First, we use a jackhammer to create a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement and in this trench we install our WaterGuard, which is our perimeter drainage system that will collect water from the walls as well as groundwater and safely channel it to the lowest point of the basement. This system is then concreted over to provide a discreet look. In the low point we install our TripleSafe Sump that will gather all of the water and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. The discharge line than terminates at a LawnScape outlet. which is a grated drain that will allow water to pass through while keeping debris out of the discharge line. Along the walls, we install our BrightWall system. This semi-rigid waterproof plastic is mechanically fastened to the basement walls providing a semi-finished look while directing water down into the perimeter drainage system. Finally, to keep this environment controlled we install our SaniDry XP which is our effective dehumidifier that will eliminate damp and musty odors while drying and filtering the air tol keep the basement at a healthy relative humidity. Now that this waterproofing system is installed, these homeowners can have peace of mind knowing that this basement will remain dry healthy and stable.
