In order to waterproof this homes leaky basement, our crews began by installing our perimeter WaterGuard system along the base of each of the basement walls. For this, they first cut a shallow, narrow trench into the basements concrete floor, to hold the WaterGuard, and then pour fresh concrete around the tunnels, to hold them in place. Next, our crews installed BrightWall paneling directly onto the basement walls. BrightWall is waterproof, creating a barrier which restricts ground water from flowing into the basement, and instead sends it cascading down its backside, and straight into the awaiting WaterGuard. With these waterproofing systems now in place, ground water intrusion into this basement will be a thing of the past. From now on, as ground water attempts to enter the basement, it will be trapped behind the BrightWall Paneling, where it will flow straight down into the WaterGuard, and routed to a TripleSafe Sump Pump installed in the lowest spot of the basement, for expulsion far away from the home via an underground discharge line. Lastly, to prevent water from flowing in through the below-grade stairwell leading into the basement, our crew installed a TrenchDrain to collect all flowing water before it reaches the basement. All water collected in the TrenchDrain, will be expelled far away from the home by the same TripleSafe system. Our work was not done yet, however, as this homes subfloor also needed our attention. The subfloor above the basement had been sagging due to inadequate support. To remedy this, our structural experts installed 4 steel SmartJacks to provide even weight distribution throughout the entire subfloor - returning the overhead flooring back to level after so many years of uncomfortably sloped and bouncy floors. SmartJacks are carefully adjusted by hand - immediately and permanently reinforcing saggy floors, creating an overall more comfortable and stable home.
