Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Keeping the Basement from Flooding - Newberg, OR
After years of the basement constantly flooding, this homeowner decided it was time to make a change and waterproof the basement. They shopped around with different companies until they came across John's Waterproofing. They loved the idea of installing a drainage system and being able to add protection to the basement walls too. The first step of our basement waterproofing system involves installed a drainage system. We do this by jackhammering a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement to install WaterGuard drainage system. This drainage pipe is able to collect water and offer a safe passageway for it to flow through instead of entering the basement. It is installed at the footing of the basement and lined with gravel to ensure water can easily filter through. Once WaterGuard is fully installed, we cover the system with concrete to offer a discreet, yet effective, look for the homeowners. The WaterGuard also connects to a SuperSump Plus sump pump. The SuperSump Plus is what takes all the collected water and can securely push it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation through a discharge line. These two are able to work together to keep the basement free from water intrusion. To add protection to the basement walls, we installed BrightWall. This is a white paneling that offers a semi-finished look while also helping to guide any water entry down below to the drainage system to be sent out. Once the entire basement has been waterproofed, the homeowner no longer has to worry about flooding and can enjoy their basement however they like.

Cracks Along Basement Walls.
When water pushes against the outside foundation walls, it causes the paint to bubble and eventually crack.

The SuperSump Plus sump pump is able to keep the basement dry and healthy by pushing any water that tries to enter out and away from the homes foundation.
