Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Protect the Basement from Water Intrusion - Portland, OR
After noticing cracks in the basement walls, this homeowner discovered water was seeping through their walls and into their home. They wanted to find a long-term solution to the water intrusion and decided to call John's Waterproofing for help. We informed the homeowner about our basement waterproofing system and they agreed it would would be the best option for their problems. The first step when waterproofing a basement is to install a drainage system. This helps control the flow of water and prevent it from entering the home. We do this by installing WaterGuard drainage pipe along the interior perimeter of the basement. This pipe collects water and guides it to a TripleSafe sump pump to be pushed out and away from the homes foundation. WaterGuard in installed at the footing of the basement and lined with gravel to help filter the water through easily and avoid clogging. The WaterGuard and the TripleSafe sump pump work together to collect and push out any water that tries to enter. Because the basement had cracks from previous years of water seeping through, the homeowner opted to have BrightWall installed too. This is a white paneling that offers a semi-finished and clean look. It goes on the existing basement walls and acts as a guide for moisture to be sent down below to the drainage system. Once this process is all completed, the homeowner can now enjoy using their dry and healthy basement again.
