Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Avoid Damage to Your Home by Waterproofing - Salem, OR
Keeping your home dry and healthy is important. When water intrudes into your home it can cause a variety of negative impacts like mold growth, wood rotting, and even impact the structural integrity of the home. Being able to waterproof the basement helps prevent water from seeping through and also adds more usable space to the home. This homeowner was experiencing water coming into their basement and called John's Waterproofing for solution. First, we needed to install a drainage system using WaterGuard. This is a drainage pipe that goes at the footing of the basement along the interior perimeter. It is capable of collecting water and offering a safe passageway to be sent out rather then entering inside the basement. Once the WaterGuard is installed, it is covered with concrete to offer homeowners a discreet, yet effective, drainage system. The pipe connects to a SuperSump Plus sump pump which takes all the collected water and securely pushes it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation through a discharge line. While these two work together to keep water out, we also install a CleanSpace wall vapor barrier along the basement walls for protection. This 20 mil thick liner is made with woven fibers that help protect from water seeping through. It acts more as a guide to direct water intrusion down below to the drainage system to then be sent out. Once this full basement waterproofing system is installed, the homeowner gets to enjoy all the benefits of a dry, healthy home and add more usable space.
