Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproof and Finish the Basement - Mulino, OR
Water seeping into your basement? Don't worry! At John's Waterproofing we have perfected systems designed to be able to keep water out and make sure your home can stay dry and healthy. One of these systems is our basement waterproofing process which includes installing drainage, vapor barrier, and prepping the space for finishing so that more usable space can be added to the home. The first step is installing a drainage system using WaterGuard. This is a pipe that goes along the interior perimeter of the basement and placed at the footing. It's goal is to be able to collect any water that tries to seep through and offers a safe passageway for it to flow through and be sent out. WaterGuard is lined with gravel that helps to prevent clogging and gets covered over top with concrete to offer homeowners a discreet drainage system. We connect the WaterGuard to a TripleSafe sump pump which takes all the collected water and safely pushes it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation. These two systems work together to keep water out, and we then want to ensure that the basement walls are protected. Since the owners want to finish the space, we installed ThermalDry along the foundation walls which acts as a heat and vapor barrier. It is anchored to the walls and sealed with 4 inch thick waterproof tape to ensure secure passage of water from the walls to the drainage system. Once the ThermalDry is installed, we finished the basement walls with paint ready drywall to make it feel like a new space. On the floors we then installed our ThermalDry Flooring system, which will not rot or mold. After this process is completed, the basement will stay dry and healthy, thus adding hundreds of footage for the homeowners to enjoy.
