Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Homeowner Couldn't Keep Water Out of the Basement - Eugene, OR
Back in 2022, this homeowner reached out to John's Waterproofing about how they could prevent water from seeping into their finished basement during the rainy seasons. We informed them about our basement waterproofing system and how it could keep the basement dry year round. They opted to wait it out and see if the issue would resolve itself over time. Unfortunately, in 2025 the issue persisted and the homeowner was ready to have something done so it wouldn't keep occurring. The first step in the basement waterproofing process is to install a drainage system. We jackhammer a trench along the interior perimeter of basement for a WaterGuard drainage pipe to go into. This pipe is capable of collecting any water that tries to enter from the ground or the walls and can offer it a safe passageway to flow through. The WaterGuard sits at the footing and is lined with gravel to prevent any kind of clogging. Once it is fully installed, it is covered over top with concrete to offer a discreet system. The WaterGuard connects to a TripleSafe sump pump. The sump pump is what takes all the collected water and securely pushes it out and away from the homes foundation to keep the basement dry. Once the drainage system is installed, then we can apply a wall system. ThermalDry is a silver heat and vapor barrier that is designed to act as a guide for moisture on the walls to be directed down below to the drainage system. It is shingled to the WaterGuard for secure passage and sealed to the basement walls with thick waterproof tape. After the basement is fully waterproofed, then we can finish the walls with drywall. Now, the homeowner gets to enjoy all the benefits of a dry and healthy basement.
Discoloration from Water Seeping Through.
The original basement walls only had paneling to act as protection, which resulted in discoloration on the walls and floors from years worth of water intrusion.
Leaky Windows.
During the heavy rainy seasons, the window would have water leaking through and entering into the basement.

Once it is fully waterproofed, we finished the basement walls with paint ready drywall to add more usable space to the home.
