Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing Could Save Your Home - Eugene, OR
This homeowner was using their finished basement as a storage room when they noticed moisture damage on some of their belongings. They began to inspect and found that water was seeping in through the drywall and evaporating to create moisture issues. Wanting to save their basement, they decided to call John's Waterproofing about a solution. We informed them that by basement waterproofing they would be able to save their basement. After removing the damaged walls we could then begin to waterproof the space. The first step in this process is installing a proper drainage system. This is done by jackhammering a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement for a WaterGuard drainage pipe to be installed into. This pipe's job is to collect water seeping in and offer a safe passageway to flow through without spilling into the basement. It can do this because it sits at the footing of the basement and is lined with gravel which helps water easily filter through and prevent clogging from mud. The WaterGuard pipe connects to a SuperSump Plus sump pump. This sump pump then takes all the collected water intrusion and securely pushes it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation. Because we identified water seeping through the walls, we wanted to add some form of moisture protection so that the space could be refinished. ThermalDry is a heat and vapor barrier designed to keep water out without risking heat loss. It is sealed with 4 inch thick waterproof tape and anchored to the walls. ThermalDry acts as a guide for moisture on the walls to be sent down below to the drainage system and be pushed out. Once this entire system is installed, then the drainage pipe gets covered with concrete so homeowners can enjoy a discreet look. Now, the homeowners couldn't be more pleased with the results and once the space is refinished they can safely enjoy their basement again.

Connecting WaterGuard to SuperSump Plus.
There are little holes in the sump pump container that are able to take in the water from the WaterGuard and its heavy duty Zoeller pumps can safely push it out.
