Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Upgrade in Washougal, WA
This home had tried to make their basement usable. They laid down rolls of carpet and added furniture. The space was mainly storage and just a play/hang out area for the kids in the household. But water was pesky. Water would come through the walls around the windows and all other obtrusions in the walls. Water was leaking to the floor where the carpeting had been getting saturated. The carpeting was rolled up and John's was called out. We sat with the owners and worked on a plan. To address the water issues we installed a full interior drain system using our WaterGuard. This collects all the water and allows it to move to the lowest point. From here the water enters a sump pump to be directed away from the homes foundation. We installed drainage for windows and addressed the other obtrusions in the walls. BrightWall paneling was installed along the walls and we installed our ThermalDry flooring. These will not mold or mildew, and are made to last in the basement. We than installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the space at a healthy relative humidity. The owners of the home are thrilled with how much nicer the space looks and love that is no longer smells like a damp space.
Water Stains on the Walls
Water stains indicate where water has continued to enter the basement and cause issues.
Moving Aside the Carpeting
The carpeting in some places had been rolled up and moved to the side so it wouldn't sit in puddles
Sump Pump Placement
The sump pump was placed at the lowest point so water can be directed to it, and the system is maintained annually to ensure it remains in tip-top shape.
Completed Look
The flooring system combined with the BrightWall makes the space look so much nicer and it is all waterproof!
