This before and after shows that process of applying Spray Foam insulation to the walls of the crawlspace after Cleanspace is installed. Insulation is not needed on the sub-floor because the Spray foam on the walls is working with the cleanspace to encapsulate, waterproof, and insulate. They work better together than apart! Spray Foam is closed-celled so it will not allow water to collect or stick to it.
This homes crawlspace dirt floor was moist to the touch, and mold spores were creeping up some of the wood. To address the issue we installed a full encapsulation system to keep this space dry and healthy.
This homeowners crawlspace had a humidity issue. Because of this water would be absorbed into the fiberglass insulation and mold spores would grow. The homeowners needed to change out the fiberglass and treat the mold every few years to keep on top of it. The were done with the constant upkeep and after searching online, decided to call up John's Waterproofing for an encapsulation.
This homeowners floors were beginning to sag and she wanted to find the cause of this issue, so she called us up. We went out and performed a free thorough inspection of the crawl space and found that most of the posts had moisture damage and were starting to get wood rot. This made them unstable and was causing the floors in the home to begin to sag. This homeowner was ready to find the best solution so she scheduled her project. First, we began by removing all of the debris, and some fiberglass insulation. We then replaced all of the wooden posts that had water damage with our SmartJack system. These are our adjustable supplemental steel piers that help add support and lift the floor back up securely. Now that everything is stable and secure, we then dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space, in which we install a three inch perforated pipe into a silt sock to secure a safe passage for water to drain to the lowest point. At this low point we install our SuperSump Plus sump pump that will collect this water and pump it outside of the house away from the foundation through a discharge line. To finish this project we Install are 6 black vapor barrier to prevent moisture from making its way through the floor of the crawl space. The floors in this home are no longer sagging and is secured with our SmartJack system.
Not all crawlspaces look gruesome (although not necessarily pretty) this does not mean they do not have issues. This space had moisture which was causing mold to grow on their homes beams eating the foundation. Now thanks to crawlspace encapsulation with the use of our Clean space this family has a clean crawlspace where mold cannot grow. They also chose the Silverglo rigid foam wall insulation. This helps to increase the homes energy savings and general performance. We were happy to be able to give them a healthy encapsulated crawlspace as well as reduced heating and cooling bills.
