Upgrading the Crawl Space Vapor Barrier - Salem, OR

This homeowner had their crawl space worked on by a different company and started noticing that water was still intruding. They decided to reach out to John's Waterproofing about upgrading their system so that the crawl space would stay dry. Upon inspection, we discovered the original sump pump wasn't working properly and we suggested a Pipe Pump Plastic system that would keep the space dry without having to worry. The homeowner agreed and we got started. To begin, we needed to remove the previous vapor barrier because it had been destroyed by water flooding in and bringing outside dirt and debris. We even discovered water damage on some of the wooden posts supporting the home because there was no proper drainage system installed. After the vapor barrier was removed, we then installed a new drainage system. This involves laying a perforated pipe along the interior perimeter of the space and connecting it to a new SuperSump Plus sump pump. These two work together to collect water and safely push it out and away from the homes foundation. Lastly, to further protect against water damage, we installed a new vapor barrier. We overlap each seam of the liner so that no groundwater is capable of seeping over top of it and getting into the crawl space. It is installed along the base, up the foundation walls, and between the concrete footing and wooden posts. The goal of the new vapor barrier is to be able to isolate and protect against water from seeping through and causing more structural damage to the home. Now, this homeowner doesn't have to worry about their crawl space flooding.

Unsealed Crawlspace Entrance in Salem, OR

This customer did not have a properly sealed crawlspace entrance and unfortunately, outside elements had gotten in their crawlspace.  Our inspector went out and recommended replacing the entrance to the crawlspace. Our crew installed an EverLast crawlspace door that can never rot away. It is completely sealed to the foundation so you don't have to worry about leaking water or other pests getting in. This customer was so relieved to have their crawlspace sealed properly and it has a nice clean finish to the outside of their home.

Crawlspace access door in Salem Oregon

After our team finished installing our patented CleanSpace system we could just leave this ugly entry as the first sight of our new beautiful crawlspace. Manuel and his team installed an Everlast door to not only make the entry more appealing, but also easier to access.

Water in the crawlspace in Salem Oregon

When Robin first inspecte this house, he knew there were big problems. Not only was the vapor barrier torn and not covering the ground, improper drain lines were directing water under the home. This excessive water lead to rot in already improperly positioned posts. Our team proceeded to install a proper drainage system, replace rotted post, and encapsulate the space. this  made it dry and healthy for our home owners.
