This home had mud caked throughout the crawlspace and high energy bills. To address this the homeowners had us do a full crawlspace insulation and encapsulation.
This homes crawl space was coated in layers of dust. The old vapor barrier was twisted out of place, and the homeowners were concerned about what this would do to the air in their home. So they called up John's Waterproofing to learn more and learn specifically about encapsulation so they could improve their indoor air quality.
When your crawl space is the starting base with the health of your home it becomes an important component. This crawl space had sagging insulation and musty smells that could be detected within the first floor of the home. The homeowners knew it couldn't be healthy and saw our article about how 50% of the air you breathe in your home comes from your crawl space. Our inspector went out and saw moisture was being absorbed into the fiberglass insulation which caused it to be weighed down and in some places actually fall off. We cleaned out the debris and did a crawl space encapsulation to prevent this level of moisture from happening ever again. Our encapsulations are done with a vapor barrier called CleanSpace and is 20 mils thick and stop mold growth underneath. The change in the quality of air was more than worth it to the homeowner and now their crawl space is protected for the life of the home.
This home suffered from high heating and cooling costs. Upon inspection they found their old fiberglass insulation falling in pieces in the crawlspace. To address this we did a full encapsulation to protect their home and lower their bills.
The customers had a raccoon visit their home in the spring. Which ended up in the vapor barrier and insulation being torn to pieces.
