This homes crawl space had a good slope, and the water would pool in the lower areas, causing damp odors. To address this issue the homeowner called up John's Waterproofing to get a quote to replace the 6 Mil. We ended up installing a pipe system to ensure water was directed to the lowest point where a new TripleSafe sump pump is installed and we installed a new 6 Mil vapor barrier, overlapping edges and running it up the walls to help it last a few years until the barrier will need to be replaced or upgraded again.
This customer had water in their crawlspace with no vapor barrier in place. We put a 6 mil black plastic vapor barrier down. Along with a sump pump with new piping so that she wouldn't have to worry about water in the crawlspace.
This homeowner saw us doing work on his neighbors home and knew his crawl space had water also. When our design specialist inspected his crawl space he found puddles of water in several places. Our crew did a crawl space encapsulation system. We installed drainage and sump pump and with our twenty mils thick vapor barrier. The homeowner was so pleased with how well his crawlspace looked and there was no more water issue. We also took out the old insulation and replaced it with our spray foam insulation. It gives better coverage and will keep his house better insulated that fiberglass insulation.
This home's old vapor barrier was encased in mud from water getting on top of the vapor barrier. To combat this water issue, a full crawlspace encapsulation was installed.
