This home was pledged with water. Pooling water was present and mold spores had penetrated in the old insulation. To address this we did a crawlspace encapsulation to have this home dry and healthy.
This home had some general crawlspace issues; falling fiberglass, debris, and mildew with water stains. To repair all of these items and protect the space from future water based issues, we installed a full encapsulation system.
This tight crawl space was experiencing significant water intrusion. Over time, the water had been evaporating into the air and absorbed by the fiberglass insulation and wooden posts supporting the home. In order to solve this issue and save the home, the homeowner called John's Waterproofing for an encapsulation. A full encapsulation helps to seal the crawl space off from the earth to control its environment and install a drainage system so that the water can be safely pumped out. Now, this crawl space is able to withstand the rainy seasons and will be able to stay dry and healthy.
The homeowners looked under their home and found water pooling on their old 6 Mil vapor barrier. There was mud and falling insulation throughout. The exterior entrance had a rotting wooden doorway. We replace the entrance with a new EverLast entryway. We then did a full encapsulation with a TripleSafe sump pump, TerraBlock insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier, Spray Foam insulation along the foundation walls, and SaniDry dehumidifier. This system has warranties to ensure these products keep this space dry and healthy.
When your crawl space is dark, humid and filled with debris it can attract pests and rodents. It can also cause poor air quality and raise energy bills due to poor insulation. These homeowners were wanting to create a healthy home environment, so they reached to John's Waterproofing to get a free estimate and inspection. One of our knowledgeable system design specialists then met with the homeowners after the inspection to go over the best options for this space. They decided encapsulation was the best choice for this space. We begin by removing all the debris and insulation in the space. Since there was not a lot of water entering the space, we install our SmartDrain system. This will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm and drain the water away into a drywell underneath the CleanSpace until the homeowner can fix the leak. Next we install our TerraBlock system directly on the dirt floor of the crawl space to create an insulated barrier between the home and the earth and this will prevent moisture from making its way up through the crawl space floor. On top of the TerraBlock, we install our CleanSpace system. This 20 mil woven barrier goes on the crawl space floor, all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists. It is then sealed at the footing of the wooden posts with our waterproof tape. We also make sure all the vents in the crawl space are completely sealed shut to prevent outside air from entering. To control the environment, we install our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This will effectively eliminate damp, musty odors by drying and filtering the air all while keeping the space at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly to finish this space we install our foam insulation. This is sprayed all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists and will fill every crack and void ensuring a complete airtight seal, protecting the home for years to come.
